Hours vary, Mon-Wed 12 hour days times vary, with Drs scheduled of pts, Thursday 4 plus hours to make 40 hours a week. Expected to work 1 Friday every 5 weeks for 4 hours.

Coastal Medical Center, LLC, located in Sarasota, Florida, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Post-op Registered Nurse (RN) to join our compassionate healthcare team. As a Post-op RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive care and support to patients during their recovery phase following surgical procedures. Your expertise will contribute to ensuring patients' comfort, monitoring their progress, and promoting positive outcomes.


Responsibilities:

  • Recovery Care:
    Provide specialized nursing care to patients in the post-operative phase, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being.
  • Vital Signs Monitoring:
    Continuously monitor and assess patients' vital signs, pain levels, oxygen saturation, and other relevant indicators, promptly addressing any concerns.
  • Pain Management:
    Administer prescribed medications for pain relief and closely monitor their effectiveness, making necessary adjustments as required.
  • Assessment and Documentation:
    Conduct thorough assessments of patients' post-operative conditions, documenting observations, interventions, and patient responses accurately.
  • Patient Education:
    Educate patients and their families about post-operative care instructions, wound care, medication management, and potential complications to facilitate a smooth recovery process.
  • Wound Care:
    Perform dressing changes and wound assessments, ensuring proper healing and preventing infections.
  • Mobility Assistance:
    Collaborate with physical therapists to assist patients in safely resuming mobility and daily activities.
  • Communication:
    Effectively communicate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare team members to provide updates on patients' conditions and progress.
  • Emotional Support:
    Offer emotional support to patients and families, addressing their concerns, providing reassurance, and promoting a positive healing environment.
  • Emergency Response:
    Be prepared to respond to any post-operative complications, initiating appropriate interventions and alerting physicians as needed.
  • Infection Control:
    Implement stringent infection control practices to prevent the spread of infections within the post-operative recovery area.
  • Medication Administration:
    Administer medications intravenously and orally, ensuring accurate dosages and adherence to prescribed schedules.
  • Quality Improvement:
    Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and optimize post-operative care processes.


Qualifications:

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Florida.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certifications required.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and collaborative team environment.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care, safety, and excellence.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
