Impact Fee Administrator

Sarasota County Government has an excellent opportunity to be an Impact Fee Administrator.
In this role you will be responsible for implementing, updating, and administering the Sarasota County Impact Fee Ordinances.
You will serve as lead for all matters related to impact fees, including technical support toward the day-to-day administration of impact fees with building permit reviews, impact/mobility fee calculations, and impact fee updates.
Work is performed under the direction of the Planning and Development Services Director, but with minimal supervision.
This work includes a high degree of public involvement and customer interaction.
Apply today and become a part off Sarasota County, the premier community where people choose to live, work, and play!Job DescriptionResponsible for being the Impact Fee Administrator of various impact fees outlined in Chapter 70, Impact Fees and Capacity Fees, including the determination and calculation of impact fees related to the review of building permits and new construction, interpreting and implementing all provisions of the Impact/Mobility Fee Ordinances; staging and testing of new impact fee rates in the permitting system; reviewing and commenting on Site Development proposals for compliance with Impact/Mobility fee ordinances; conducting inspections and research to obtain data for use in determining code compliance.
Assist the public, municipalities, and County departments with general information requests.
Oversee and interpret impact fee rate schedules, as applied to particular development types, using procedures described in the impact fee code and ordinances; determine applicable or equivalent types of land uses and assesses the appropriate impact fees based on fee schedule.
Oversee and manage updating impact fees and the related ordinances, including responsible for managing fee studies, communication relations to obtain stakeholder input on proposed changes, and presenting at public workshops and hearings.
Provide and present annual reports to the County Commission describing fees collected, encumbered, and used, and proposed capital improvement programs for each impact fee category; make presentations to work groups, Administration, elected and appointed officials, and citizens providing information and policy recommendations.
Provide technical guidance and represents the County in major projects, including but not limited to, Capital Improvement Program planning, development agreements, the processing of Community Development District (CDD) applications, funding strategies, and major transportation initiatives.
Attend and participate in Development Review Coordination (DRC) and relevant County Commission meetings.

About YouTo thrive in this role, you must have-A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Planning, Land Use, Geography, Finance, or a closely aligned and related field or job-related field and five (5) years job-related/CIP experience.
A Master's degree, JD or PhD in the fields described above can substitute for one-year of experience.
Project experience can substitute for education on a year-for-year basis depending on the type of experience.

$72,009.
60 - $84,510.
40 depending on experience.
Position Salary Range:
$64,396.
80 - $109,366.
